Change Your Thoughts

0

How can you use the mind to change your life? Don’t you have to work hard to get ahead, to get what you want? Actually, no. Not work hard, work smart. You see, the brain is a complex organ. With it we can play violin, learn a new language. In actuality, however, anything that you do that engages the awareness in any way, any training of the brain to function in a different matter only engages part of the brain.

The brain is plastic, even in adulthood. If you are not engaging the total brain, your brain is not developed to its total potential. “Use it or lose it.” The total brain is developed only through the meditative state. It is in this state that the whole brain get engaged. And total brain function becomes more permanent with regular meditation. Why do we want total brain function? Because total brain function correlates with IQ, creativity, emotional maturity, moral reasoning, learning ability.

The brain is the most complex of our organs. So far, according to scientific research, only by universal consciousness, the meditative state, is the total brain developed. Assess the effectiveness of your meditation – the total develop of mind, body and behavior. If your meditation quickly leads you to beyond thought, sensation, emotion, (pure, abstract universal consciousness) then it is developing the total brain. If it is not working to get you there very fast, you may want to consider transcendental meditation.

We want to raise our awareness of consciousness. The whole universe is waves of consciousness, of pure intelligence. With meditation we become more aware of this universal consciousness, and recognize that it is our self. We realize that we are same person we were at birth. Our bodies have changed, our beliefs have changed, but we are still the same person. One thing that has not changed is our innermost self. That which is our own subjectivity, that which experiences, that reality is completely universal. And through meditation, we realize we are a cosmic being, the source of the universe.

When someone starts to meditate, how does it affect the power of their intentions? There are levels of thought. Superficial levels and deeper levels. The deeper you go, the more powerful you get, similar to nuclear energy is more powerful than chemical energy. Deeper levels of thought are millions of times more powerful than superficial levels.

As the Bible, (and other literature states) with a mustard seed of faith you can move mountains. Focusing as hard as you can on moving a grain of toast – you probably won’t succeed — the superficial levels are the more active, and the least effective. The deep levels of mind are more silent, they are where you move mountains. Through deep meditation that you practice for as little as 20 minutes, 2 times per day, dive deep within. Experience that fundamental unity.
